Unfinished Histories: Staged reading of Jackie Kay’s 1986 play Chiaroscuro

Unfinished Histories will be presenting a staged reading of Jackie Kay’s 1986 play Chiaroscuro. Originally staged by Dalston-based Theatre of Black Women founded by Bernardine Evaristo, Patricia Hilaire and Paulette Randall, this ground-breaking poetic and moving piece was the first play in Britain to address Black lesbian experience. The event is free, directed by Olusola Oyeleye, produced by Susan Croft. The Acting Out exhibition includes photos of the original production in rehearsal.

The event will be followed by a brief Q&A.
